Hooray, It's Surgery Day and everything is OK :)

IT'S DONE!!!!!!!!!! Surgery is over and Dad did great!!!!!!

Mom stayed here last night and we all went back to the hotel. Not a great night sleep for any of us. Lilly, Joe and I took the 9 a.m. shuttle and came up to the family area. We walked in and the attendant said Mom was sleeping and not to disturb her. Lilly wanted to know where Papa was and why we couldn't see him? I told her, "remember, Papa told us his heart was broken and he had to go get it fixed?" She said " well why can't we see him?" In typical three year old "Why" fashion. I said the doctors were fixing his heart. She said, "can we watch?" I told her we could not watch that the doctors are the only ones who could watch. "Why can't we watch?" How do you explain this to a three year old???

The kids made this day go by very fast. Just hanging out with them made the time go by very quickly

Lilly and Joe "work" on their laptops!

Monkey See Monkey Do!

Kylie's Laptop had a system error!

She brought her laptop over to Grammy to help her fix it! She doesn't know  Grammy can't help her with that technical stuff
Kylie decided to take a lunch break

We are still waiting in the ICU waiting room to go in and see Dad but we are so happy that the surgery is behind us and we can all move forward to recovery and many more Happy Birthday's to come!!!

As always we could never make it through without all the support from our family and friends. Please keep the prayers coming and we will continue to update you.

A very Happy Laurie and Family :)

  5. Ah, I remember those waiting rooms! The Shapiro Cardiovascular Center is like the Ritz. They know how to take care of the patients AND the families. I can get a good nap in those recliners.

Glad everything went well! I'm still catching up on reading, so hoping to see lots more good news.
