The Beginning Of The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

This past week we lit the Assumption College Christmas tree. They have a little tree lighting ceremony complete with hot chocolate and cookies for all who join in the festivities. The first try, the poor tree only lit half way but the next night it had its lights all aglow for everyone to see. It really is a pretty tree in the middle of the campus center green.

In my office I continued the festive decorations or Fru- Fru as my co-workers like to call it. I know in this picture it looks like the tree in the lobby is being struck by lightening. I assure you the tree is fine  and perfectly safe!

Dad had a good week this week. He seems less tired this week, now that they have his potassium level at a normal level. Last week it was too high and we thought it was low so he was taking potassium to try and feel better. The nurse came checked his levels and he is now back on track!

We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new niece! She will be born on Monday if not sooner :)

Lilly came over to play this week while Brendan took care of some stump removal in our front yard. Lilly explained that Kylie could not come over to visit because  "she had a pink eye"  Lilly and I made some Christmas decorations for her to take home and I asked he what she wanted from Santa. She told me...with a serious face..."um an umbrella...maybe a yellow one or a pink one for Kylie." "Because, we don't really have a lot of umbrellas!" So I filled "Santa" in on her wish list which also included Chocolate Candy! Santa has it pretty easy this year!

We have had a few unseasonable warm days this week and Dad and Mom took advantage of the nice weather and walked outside. They took a walk down the street to the pond. We are lucky to live on a street that is not too busy so we don't have to worry about too much traffic. His nurse told him to go outside and catch a few rays... not too many but a few to bump up his vitamin D.

Sunday, Brendan and I attended a meeting for the fundraiser that they are holding for Dad in January. The people there are amazing! They are so organized and have really thought about all of the details. They are collecting prizes for the silent auctions and raffles and they are all so generous with their time and willingness to do whatever it takes to make this a successful event.

Dad has an appointment on Thursday of this week in Boston to do another heart cath. and make sure everything is going ok. The joint commissioner of hospitals is visiting Brigham and Women's this week. He always receives excellent care there so I know the commissioner will be happy. He also wants to talk to Dad with his team. Dad is kind of a big deal there. He is a success story and one of the healthiest patients they have.

Stay tuned for more info next Tuesday and hopefully pictures of Papa with his newest Granddaughter! We are all very excited and can't wait to meet the newest addition to the Palumbo clan :)

Thank You everyone for your continued support. Your visits, cards, calls and texts are what get Dad through some of the tough days. We couldn't ask for a better support team than all of you! We are truly lucky to have such wonderful family and friends who continue to support us through this journey.

Until Next Time,

Laurie
