This week we welcomed little Julie Ann Palumbo into our family
We were so very lucky yesterday to be able to visit with my newest little niece Julie.
She is cute as can be and is already adored by her two big sisters.
Her Mom, Kerry, my sister-in-law, is a superstar. She makes having a baby look as easy as a walk in the park! I know it's not that easy!!! She is truly an amazing person and a wonderful Mom to all THREE of my nieces. My brother is very lucky to have such a wonderful wife who is the best Mom.
Grammy and Papa were able to meet and hold little Julie :)
Papa even put her back to sleep! He has the magic touch!
Lilly and Kylie have been having a sleepover at Grammy and Papa's and they are having a grand ole time. I have to say we do spoil them a little bit, but that's half the fun!
Papa, Lilly, Kylie and Auntie Laurie watched Papa's favorite Christmas movie next to Home Alone...The Polar Express!!! Papa and Grammy bought Lilly and Kylie the Polar Express Train for Christmas ( Shhhh, it's a surprise!)
We have been having fun hiding ElKay... or L.K. who is Lilly and Kylie's Elf on the shelf. For those of you not familiar with the Elf on the shelf. You name the Elf. He watches good girls and boys all day then flies back to Santa's workshop at night to tell Santa who's been naughty or nice. He flies back and is in a different place each morning when the kids look for him. The secret is that no parent or child can touch the Elf or his magic is lost! Today we caught him sitting next to a Santa tray on the counter reminding Lilly and Kylie that Santa is watching and so they have been on their best behavior :)
It has been so warm, 60 last night, that when we got back from seeing Julie, the moth's were out! "Like a Moth to a flame"... except this is a Christmas Candle light bulb in the window...Moth's don't care!
Dad had his blood test yesterday and unfortunately they found out his blood count is low. This means he has to have a transfusion. He had a doctor's appointment today and they decided that he needed to call Boston for further instructions. Their further instructions...come in tomorrow for a transfusion and you may have to stay because they want to see if there is internal bleeding :( The odd thing is that Dad doesn't feel bad at all. He is just anemic and needs to "pink up" a bit. He was doing so well this last week I was beginning to think we were turning the corner. I just feel like everyday is a science fair and Dad is the experiment. I just wish we could find a happy level for his system to stay in so as not to keep changing meds and crunching numbers.
On a lighter note Lilly made the "Chateau Palumbo" Gingerbread House. She used every last candy and cookie we had...
We are very happy that Dad was able to meet his newest Granddaughter yesterday. Thanks to all of the doctors and nurses who are fighting to keep him healthy! Mostly his full time nurse...My Mom. So we are looking forward to getting Dad in and out of the hospital as fast as we can so we can spend Christmas together with our newest family member JULIE :)
Until next week...keep the prayers and well wishes coming. They have brought us this far and we still need them everyday! Thank you all so much for your continued support, we really appreciate it and couldn't do this without all of you.
Laurie
Hi Laurie:
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you all on your new addition. She is too cute for words. I hope everything goes well for your Dad. It must be frustrating to see him doing well and then a set back.
I am still dedicating all my Saturday Masses for him so the prayers are still coming.
Thanks for keeping us all posted. You are the best!!
With love and continued prayers,
Diane (Shipulski)
